I was raised in a small town named Round-O, located in Colleton County, South Carolina. I graduated from Walterboro High School in 1986. While in high school, I lettered in three sports-Basketball, Volleyball and Track & Field.
My parents still reside in Round-O in the house where I grew up. Both are now retired. I have one brother and three nephews.
I graduated from Johnson C. Smith University in 1991 with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Health Education and a minor in Physical Education. While at JCSU, I was on the Track team and I became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
I began working for the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System in 1992. I have taught at several schools during my tenure with CMS. I began at Myers Park High School. I have educated students at East Mecklenburg High School, Eastway Middle School, West Charlotte High School and Hawthorne Middle School. I taught at James Martin Middle School for 15 years, While at JM, I worked closely with the Athletic Department. I was also the Athletic Trainer. I am starting a new journey in my educational career. I am now teaching Health Education at Community House Middle School.
Teaching is my passion! I am the travel agent to your child's future. I am fully committed to assisting each of my students reach thier full potential. As a Health Educator teaching 21st Century Skill-Based Health Education, it is my mission for every student to obtain knowledge-that will change attitudes and learn skills necessary to become Healthy & Productive contributors to future generations!
